North Lancing School

News Alert! Upgrade Revealed

After months of closure, along with all other schools in the UK, the children on North Lancing School returned in September.

But the excitement was not only about seeing friends again and getting back to some normality, it was the opening of the newly upgraded washroom areas!

Based in Sussex, North Lancing School is a 2-form entry school offering primary education to up to 420 children from the age of 4 up to 11 years. With this number of children in school the boys’ and girls’ washroom areas are in constant use, so the materials used had to be able sustain constant footfall, be robust and durable.

The school sought a high-end luxurious look with rich colours. Their vision was an eye-catching feature whilst also being a fully functional and practical space. With extensive experience in supplying and installing washrooms of this high specification, the BRAC Projects team were well placed to take up this exciting project for the school.
The time-line for this project was tight so being able to us our UK based fabricating facilities meant we were able to turn around the manufactured bespoke solid surface wash troughs quickly. Produced using Durasein® , we knew this would live up to the brief and definitely wouldn’t disappoint!

With amazing durability and strength, the Durasein® pure acrylic solid surface has the following qualities, allowing for easy cleaning and maintenance for the school:

  • Easy to clean
  • Water resistant
  • Colour Stability over time
  • Repairable
  • Suitable for curved surfaces
  • Complies with Euroclass B-s1-d0 standards

Using wash troughs instead of individual basins, helped to reduce both the space used as well as reducing the water usage. We also used Polyrey solid grade laminate to IPS duct sets and toilets to significantly increase the life span and durability of both areas.

Even if we say so ourselves, we think the end result looks stunning! And this was corroborated by both the staff and particularly the pupils of North Lancing School who were delighted with the finished project.
